Horsetooth Rock is a hike you won’t want to miss! Nestled in the foothills just west of Fort Collins, it’s one of the area’s most iconic landmarks. According to local legend, Horsetooth Rock is the remains of an evil giant’s heart cut twice by the powerful Chief Maunamoku to protect his people from the giant’s fury. From the summit, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of all of Fort Collins.
Just a short hike from the Horsetooth Rock trailhead, you'll find the beautiful Horsetooth Falls—an ideal spot to relax and cool off on a warm day.
